LENA ALPHONSO
THIRD BIRTHDAY SESSION
IN STUDIO
I truly love milestone photos. Mainly because kids are my favorite. They're just little friendly balls of energy...most of them anyway. As a photographer, they're a challenge AND I LOVE IT.
I don't like to pose. I like raw emotion...catching love and happiness in action. I like watching mom tickle while giggles erupt and the family dog lick their favorite human's cheek. Being able to freeze those moments makes me warm and fuzzy. Catching that child smile bigger than anyone has ever been able to capture is why I do this. I think most of my sessions with kids can feel like pure madness but it's always so rewarding to get the "Wow! These came out great!" at the end. And to me, the madness is fun!
Lena is my god child. My bestie's little one...and she's her momma's twin. Attitude, facial expressions, and all! She is currently into Little Einsteins and that was the theme of her birthday party this year. So Marraine (French for God Mother--that's me) whipped her up a backdrop sign and we took some photos! She is like most three year olds...a ball of energy. She also has attitude that makes me giggle (again, from her momma) and she's so smart! We played with balloons, we switched out things for her to sit on (tiny tornadoes tend to twist up the backdrop underneath--we quickly discovered), we laughed, we jumped. And I think in the middle of all the madness, we got some great shots.
Happy third birthday Lena!
